Clamp groove ends are generously rounded to prevent damage to 1/4-inch bare or insulated messenger installed at angles up to 35 degrees. The inner, pole side clamp section is tapped to accept a 5/8-inch diameter bolt and includes a curved surface with spurs to penetrate into the pole and provide a stable installation.
