TII 325 NIZ, TII 326 NIZ & TII 126 NIZ ONE-LINE NETWORK INTERFACE DEVICE FEATURES Accepts TII's Full Line of Protection Modules Network Interface With RJ-11 Plug & Jack Optional Electronics Lockable Cover With Telco Override UL Listed DESCRIPTION The TII 325 NIZ, TII 326 NIZ and TII 126 NIZ Station Protector with Network Interface consists of a mounting base, optional encapsulated station protector module, and a network interface cover assembly. The cover assembly consists of an RJ–11 plug and jack with weather resistant grommets, a customer wiring bridge, a provision for mounting an optional electronic circuit such as a TII 856 1 / 2 – ringer or a TII 807 MTU, and a hinged top cover with customer wiring instructions. The lockable cover has a Telco override for service entrance and can be ordered with either a pin-in-head or hex head cover screw. The cover assembly attached to the mounting base with a captive, nylon cover nut. The subscriber is totally isolated from the telco wiring and protector module. The TII 355 TFSÒ Maximum Duty 3-Electrode protector module is used in the 325 NIZ and the 356 TFSÒ Heavy Duty 3-Electrode protector module used in the 326 NIZ. The 355 and 356 protector modules consist of a 3-Electrode gas tube with a failshort mechanism which operates to permanently ground both sides of the line under a power cross condition, and an integral device which provides air gap protection in the rare instance when the gas tube vents. The sealed module excludes moisture, providing protection against premature shorting, corrosion and noisy circuits. This superiority makes the TII station protector particularly suitable for use where heavy surges are likely to occur, especially where aerial wire, rural distribution wire or long drop runs are used. The TII 126 TFS® Heavy Duty 2-Electrode protector module is used in the TII 126 NIZ. The 126 protector module has two Heavy Duty TII gas tubes which provide an extra level of protection in both life and current handling capacity beyond that of most 2-Electrode gas tubes in common usage today. The TII 126 protector module also contains a failshort mechanism in case of a power cross condition, a backup airgap, an epoxy sealed shell with two #10 wiring studs and a ground strap. The encapsulation of the internal components of the module safeguards against contamination and corrosion of the protection elements, a feature not found in screw-in type station protectors.
